No. 19 Huskies Fall To No. 2 Oregon In Game One

No. 2 Oregon remained undefeated in the Pac-12 after taking control of the first game of the series against Washington with a five-run first inning en route to a 8-0 (5) win over the Huskies.

Washington recorded its sixth shutout of the season, beating Portland State in a midweek non-conference game, 9-0 (6) Wednesday night in Hillsboro, Ore. Ten different Huskies tallied at least one hit while three recorded multiple RBI in the game. Junior Hailey Bator (9-2) earned the victory, going 5.0 innings in the start and allowing no runs on five hits and two walks. Freshman Kirstyn Thomas pitched a scoreless inning of relief, allowing one hit and one walk.

Washington opened its four-game weekend beating Portland State in a midweek non-conference game, 9-0 (6) Wednesday night in Hillsboro, Ore. Ten different Huskies tallied at least one hit while three recorded multiple-RBI in the game. For the eighth game in a row, Washington scored in the first inning, before eventually ending the game early via a six-run sixth-inning.

No. 18 Washington plated six runs in the first inning Monday night in the finale of its series against UCLA at Husky Softball Stadium to earn a 6-2 victory. For the third consecutive game of the series, Washington scored in the first inning. This time, however, the Huskies held the lead to hand UCLA their first conference loss and snap a 15-game win steak by the Bruins.

As it did in yesterday's game, No. 11 UCLA overcame an early deficit to win game two of the three-game series over No. 18 Washington, this time breaking open a two-run Husky lead with a five-run third inning to defeat the Huskies, 8-4 at Husky Softball Stadium.

The No. 18/17-ranked University of Washington softball team (28-5, 1-1) will host No. 11/9 UCLA (27-5, 3-0) for a Pac-12 showdown on Saturday (March 21) at 3:30 p.m., Sunday (March 22) at 6 p.m. and Monday (March 23) at 6 p.m. All three games will be televised live on Pac-12 Networks. Washington Earns 1,000 Win In Doubleheader Sweep

The No. 18-ranked University of Washington softball team used an overall team effort to claim a doubleheader sweep against Texas Tech, 7-1 and 8-5, on Thursday evening (Feb. 19) at Husky Softball Stadium. It was the Red Raiders first trip back to Seattle since 2012 when Washington shutout No. 23 Texas Tech to advance to the Seattle Regional Championship.

The No. 18-ranked University of Washington softball team (26-5) will host Texas Tech (15-15) for a doubleheader on Thursday (March 19) at Husky Softball Stadium before continuing Pac-12 Conference play hosting a three-game series vs. No. 11 UCLA (27-5) Saturday-Monday. The Huskies will play UCLA at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday (March 21), 6 p.m. on Sunday (March 22) and 6 p.m. on Monday (March 23).

One Big Inning Gives Arizona State 9-7 Win Over Washington

Washington tallied nine hits including three home runs in the second Pac-12 game of the season, but dropped a 9-7 decision to Arizona State at Husky Softball Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Huskies and Sun Devils each recorded nine hits in the ball game, but timely hits including a grand slam in the first inning gave ASU the advantage. Despite falling behind 6-0 in the opening frame, the Huskies battled back, as always, putting the tying run into scoring position and bringing the winning run to the plate in the bottom of the seventh.
