New coach Chris Petersen says he can't wait to see all his dynamic outside linebacker can do in a game this season – on defense, offense and on special teams. "That's intriguing," Petersen says.

UW's new coach allowed co-captain Hau'oli Kikaha to miss the first months of offseason workouts to pursue his passion: studying the culture and history of the Pacific Islands in French Polynesia. "Certain guys earn certain privileges," Petersen said of the team's top pass rusher and star, 3.53-GPA student.
Husky Football Spring Preview 2014
The new coach predicted this first spring practice with the Huskies would be "ugly." And in his mind, he's been proven correct. "We will get it, eventually. The eventually needs to be the sooner eventual than the later eventual."
The Huskies are taking two weeks off from spring practice for finals and UW's spring break. Quarterback Lindquist has three finals, including an acting one in which he plays a post-9/11 firefighter.
John Ross is now the sole wearer of number 1 for the Huskies. With the graduation of former defensive back, Sean Parker, Ross can be Washington's one and only on both offense and defense.
