Baseball Team Hands Out Fall Awards

Although the Husky Baseball team was unable to determine a winner of the Purple and Gold World Series due to rain forcing the cancellation of the deciding game, the team accomplished a lot during the fall and made a lot of progress towards being able to have another successful season in the spring.

The Gold team scored six times in the third inning to overcome a 3-0 deficit and cruise to an 11-3 victory in game two of the Purple and Gold World Series Tuesday at Husky Ballpark to even the series at 1-1.

The Purple team beat the Gold squad, 4-0, Monday in the first game of the Purple and Gold World Series at Husky Ballpark to take the 1-0 advantage in the best-of-three series. The Purple team scored twice in the fifth inning and added runs in the sixth and seventh to support a combined one-hitter by three pitchers.

The Husky Baseball team wraps up their fall practice schedule with the annual Purple and Gold World Series at Husky Ballpark, this coming Monday, Oct. 20 through Wednesday, Oct 22. The games will all start around 3:30 p.m. and are open to the general public.

A year after finishing second in the Pac-12, winning 41 games and earning a trip to the NCAA Regionals for the first time in 10 years, Washington Huskies baseball ushers in a new era with 28 homes games at Husky Ballpark. In all, the Huskies are scheduled to play 56 games, featuring 17 against seven teams that participated in the 2014 NCAA tournament, including three that advanced to the Super Regionals.
