Rallings Named Perfect Game First Team All-American

Washington senior Troy Rallings was named First Team All-America by Perfect Game/Rawlings, adding to an already impressive list of post-season awards. Rallings, a 22nd-round selection by the Los Angeles Angels, has previously been named first team All-American by Baseball America, D1Baseball, Collegiate Baseball/Louisville Slugger and ABCA/Rawlings.

Assistant Swanson To Coach With USA Baseball

USA Baseball announced the appointment of Washington baseball assistant coach Tanner Swanson as a coach of the National Teams Identification Series (NTIS) Northwest Region 17-under, 16-under and 13-under teams. Swanson will coach the teams in the NTIS events in Cary, N.C. from Aug. 10-14, Aug. 18-21 and Aug. 25-28.

Rallings Named First-Team All-American By ABCA

Earlier this week, Washington senior Troy Rallings was named the West's first team All-American reliever by the American Baseball Coaches Association. On Saturday, he beat out seven other relievers from the eight regions and was named the ABCA/Rawlings Division I First Team All-American relief pitcher to become the first Husky to ever earn first team honors from the nation's coaches.

The eight ABCA/Rawlings All-Region teams were announced and Washington senior Troy Rallings was named to the west region's first team as a relief pitcher. The right-handed is now eligible for the ABCA/Rawlings All-America Team, which will be announced Saturday, June 18.

Three Huskies were named to the 2016 Pac-12 Conference Baseball All-Academic Second Team, including Josh Cushing, who was a first-team member last season. Joining Cushing on the list this year are seniors Spencer Jones and Duncan Hendrickson.

Two current Washington players, including Pac-12 Pitcher of the Year Troy Rallings and All-Pac-12 selection Chris Baker, and four future Huskies were selected in the third day of the 2016 Major League Baseball Draft on Saturday. They join senior Spencer Jones, who was selected in the 10th round on Friday.
