SEATTLE – For the Washington Huskies softball team, competition is a cornerstone of everything they do.
SEATTLE – The Washington Huskies announced their 2014 softball schedule Wednesday. Following their 3rd place finish at the 2013 Women's College World Series, the Huskies will look to build on last year's success, with a challenging conference and non-conference schedule in 2014. The Huskies will play 14 teams that appeared in the NCAA Tournament last season, including three teams that qualified for the Women's College World Series.
SEATTLE – The National Fastpitch Coaches Assocation (NFCA) announced last week that three Washington softball players have been honored as 2012-2013 All-American Scholar Athletes.
SEATTLE – The Huskies earned two shutout wins Sunday on the final day of the Fall Classic to sweep the three-day, six-team tournament at Husky Softball Stadium.
SEATTLE – The Huskies picked up two victories in the Fall Classic on Saturday at Husky Softball Stadium. The Huskies opened with a 4-1 win over the Seattle U Redhawks, as Bryana Walker held the Redhawks to just 4 hits, and the Huskies scored all 4 runs with 2 outs. In their second game of the day, the Huskies scored 14 runs in the 1st inning on their way to a 19-2 rout of the Wenatchee Valley Knights.
SEATTLE – The Huskies opened the 2013 Fall Classic with a 16-0 exhibition win over the Bellevue Bulldogs on Friday night at Husky Softball Stadium.
SEATTLE – As the Huskies prepare for the 2014 softball season, they do so with a veteran team, led by seniors Kaitlin Inglesby, Victoria Hayward, Bryana Walker, Hooch Fagaly, Marki Creger-Zier, Whitney Jones, and Kelli Suguro. But the team is also bolstered by five newcomers, who are all looking to make an impact of their own.
SEATTLE – Two-time USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year and ace starting pitcher on the 2009 National Championship team, Danielle (Lawrie) Locke will further solidify her place in Washington history, when her jersey is retired at the Huskies' Sept. 28 football game against Arizona at Husky Stadium.
WENATCHEE – The Huskies softball team put their fall training into practice Thursday, as the hitters got their first chance to see live pitching with a 5-inning intraquad scrimmage at Wenatchee Valley College.
SEATTLE – The Huskies will open the 2014 softball season with 5 exhibition games at the 6-team Fall Classic at Husky Softball Stadium on October 4 – 6, providing the first look at a UW team that returns its key contributors from last season's third place finish at the Women's College World Series.
